Howard Duane Terman Howard Duane Terman 94 of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on April 30, 2010 at Baylor All Saints Hospital, Fort Worth, Texas. The son of Harvey and Myrtle Terman was born on Novermber 27, 1915 in Martinsville, Indiana. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1933. He attended Indiana University and Central Business College in Indianapolis, Indiana. On September 3, 1939 (The day England declared war with Germany) he married Shereen McGee. In 1943 while working in Louisville, Kentucky he was drafted into the Army. He returned to Louisville after serving two years in the south Pacific during World War II. In 1948 he returned to Bloomington where he worked at Indiana University for 32 years. He was Chief Accountant for 17 of those years and retired in 1979. Howard enjoyed fishing, golfing, and traveling in his RV. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic and Elks Lodges. During his retirement years, he served as a volunteer treasurer for the Elks, Girl Scouts Council and the American Red Cross. His first wife, Shereen, passed away in 1994. He later married Jane Barnard of Houston, Texas. They made residence in Georgetown, Texas and lived there until 2005 when they moved to a retirement home in Kerrville, Texas. He recently moved from Kerrville to Grand Prairie, Texas with family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William (Bill), sister Martha Ann and wife Shereen. He is survived by his wife Jane; his children, William of Bloomington, Indiana and Kathryn of Grand Prairie, Texas; grandchildren Evan Terman of Bloomington, Indiana and Rossi Robben of Grand Prairie, Texas; great grandchildren Quinn and Colin Robben, two nieces Terry Cooperider and Tracey Stout of Strongsville, Ohio; two nephews Philip Terman of Toledo, Ohio and James Terman of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Visitation for Howard will be on Thursday May 6th from 4-8 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington with a Masonic Service at 7:00pm. Visitation will also be held on Friday from 11:30am until service time. Services will be on Friday May 7th at 1:30pm at The Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers , the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Shriners Hospitals for Children c/o Murat Shriners of Indianapolis, Attn: Sheri, 510 North New Jersey Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 or to the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation, P.O. Box 44210. Indianapolis Indiana 46244-0210.
