Mildred L. Reeves, 94, of Martinsville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She passed away at the Bloomington Hospital. Born, August 13, 1915 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Columbus “Lum” and Edith (Fender) Conner of Bedford. Mildred worked at F.W. Woolworth in Bloomington for 16 years, but she dedicated her life to her family. She has been a devoted wife for 75 years and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Mildred was a caregiver and friend to all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed long walks, playing board games, gardening and simply spending time with her family. Survivors include her loving husband and best-friend, Everett Reeves, four children, June Cain (Jim Cowger), Don Reeves all of Bloomington, Martha Frame (Gary Frame), Dennis Reeves all of Martinsville, eight grandchildren, Don Everett Cain, Donna Benham, Bucky Reeves, Becky Baugh, Jessica Hendrickson, Jennifer Watkins, Christina Guffey and Pamela Puett, 17 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ralph (Buck) Reeves, infant sons, Everett Wayne and Steven Eugene, a grandson, Mike Cain, a great granddaughter, Melissa Cain, two brothers, Ray and Ora Conner, two infant sisters, Avis and Mary Ellen. Services will be 11:00am Friday, June 18, 2010 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, with Rev. Shannon Benham officiating. Visitation will be 4-8pm Thursday at The Funeral Chapel, with burial at Knightridge Cemetery.
