Mary Leatta “Lee” (Lane) Hankins, 88, of Bloomington passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospice House.
Born February 28, 1923 in French Lick, she was the daughter of Noble and Mabel (Fox) Lane.
Lee was a volunteer at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital gift shop and an Avon Lady for many years.
She was the former receptionist for the Koeppen Veterinary Clinic, the former bookkeeper of Big Red Pest Control and the former office manager at Economy Pest Control.
In the 1950’s Lee was a singer on the television program Leave It To George.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda L. Rasner (Don) of Bloomington, Paula S. Hinkle of Fort Wayne, Karen A. Langley (Tom) of Bloomington, two sons, Leon P. Hankins of Mitchell, Richard G. Hankins of Bloomington, 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Everett Stone, her brother, Richard Lane, her husband Paul L. Hankins, her grandson, Andy Hinkle and her granddaughter, Aanalee Browning.
Services will be 11:00am Saturday, February 25, 2012 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Friday and 10-11am Saturday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Moores Ridge Cemetery in French Lick.
